Family

So this past week has been all about family. Maybe it is because I have kids and maybe it's because life can end so quickly, but lately I have been so consumed with relationships with family members.

This past week my Granpa came to Newfoundland. It has been 3 years since I last saw him. I didn't realize how excited I was to see him until I commented to Chris that nothing could keep me away from the airport to welcome him. And my relationship and adoration with him hasn't changed a bit.

This picture was taken at his birthday party at my Aunt Jane's. This moment was only 10 seconds long but it was one of the most important impactful moments in my life. Shortly afterwards I said goodbye and cried for at least a hlaf an hour. Isabella asked if I was sad because she was growing up. I told her that I was sad because I was gonna miss grandpa. So when we got home she painted me a picture of him so that I could always see him. What a girl.

I was able to get him and Leah to come to our house for lunch earlier that day. It meant alot that he was able to come and see our home and get to know our kids a little better. And for once, my kids were fascinated with an older male. Everything they did they had to show him. He was so impressed at how Isabella played piano, how Zach wanted to be a goalie for the HAAABS, and how at 2, he could whiz through the computer like he had been doing it for years.

Needless to say, I love that man so much and it is sad that he lives on teh other side of the country. So.....I think I am going to go and visit him in January.

There are friends and family there that I miss so much as well. Heather and Henry (my parents while I lived there), Alisha, my good friend that I miss daily and my Uncle Mike and Kyle and Tyler.

Well, that is it for now. Isabella just started school today and I need to get my head toghther and make sure that everything she needs is in her backpack for tomorrow.

Oh, and if you read this, please leave a comment.
